You deserve a pat on the back for installing WordPress!

Ok, so here we go:

Do you want to build your own website?  Here are the steps:

1.  Go over to NameCheap (my favorite company) or a domain company of your choosing and purchase your domain name.

2.  Next, travel over to HostGator (another fav company) or a hosting company you’ve already chosen.

3.  Once you have completed both of these steps, ask your hosting company for the name of your servers so that you can fill in that information over at NameCheap (or your domain company).

4.  Now, login to your cpanel with your hosting company and scroll down until you see “Fantastico Deluxe”.  Click it!

5.  Then, look for “WordPress” on the left and click that link.

3 Essential Oils to Combat Mosquito Bites

3 Essential Oils to Combat Mosquito Biteslavender (1)

We're getting ready here in my neck of the woods for mosquito season and it promises to be pretty rough.  What brought this to mind was an allergy reaction I had this week.

I broke out in hives and honestly, I have no idea why.  So, while I haven't figured out what caused this breakout, I knew immediately which oils to use to eliminate the itch.

So, here's what I did.

One day I used lavender, the next day melrose and then on the third day I used peppermint.  I have to say that all 3 essential oils eliminated the itching immediately.  The effect lasted for several hours so I applied the oils in the morning and again before bedtime.  The hives are slowly going away – woo hoo!!!

When mosquito season finally rolls around, I'll be prepared with a good supply of the above.

Oh – one more thing – you can "layer" the above oils as well.  Simply apply all three!

5 Reasons to Study Your Competition

5 Reasons to Study Your CompetitionTrash Bin

Trashing your competition is very similar to using bad language. You turn people off and it appears that you’re taking the low road

with your speech.

Keep your words clean, study your competition and know your stuff.  Customers and clients will love you for it.

Ok, so here are the 5 reasons to study your competition instead of trashing them:

1.  Confidence in your own products or services speak very clearly to your clients and it builds trust.

2.  Clients come away with a bad taste in their mouths if you speak negatively about anyone.  They perceive you as one who takes the “low road”.

3.  It’s wrong.  Period.

4.  You appear weak to your clients.

5.  Instead of trash talk, spend your time wisely by asking your client questions to figure out what they like or don’t like.  You must stay on track with your clients and continue to show them that you love to serve.  Gossip reduces the level of trust a client has with you.

So, trash the “trash talk” and take the high road!

4 Tips for Better Communication with Your Team

4 Tips for Better Communication with Your Team

Several years ago, I had the pleasure of meeting one of the sr. partners of a company I used to work for and because I was a new employee, he welcomed me and asked some questions about my work history.  When he found out that I began my work life as a

cashier in a supermarket there was an immediate connection because he worked in a supermarket to pay his way through college.

I explained that my Dad was a supermarket manager and that his parents owned an Italian market in Paterson, New Jersey.

The sr. partner stopped by my office every day to discuss how to manage the company’s client files and how to improve communication. We came to the conclusion that having a once weekly company-wide breakfast meeting would open the doors for discussion and would also solve some of our internal problems.

So, here’s what we did:

1.  An agenda was compiled before the meeting so that no time was wasted.

2.  A chart listing all client cases was created and distributed which showed all upcoming deadlines.

3.  Announcements were made regarding changes in company policies, etc.

4.  The sr. partner always asked for comments.

The meetings were held every single Friday morning and were very successful.  At first, the meetings were very quiet, however, that changed quickly!

The sr. partner quickly figured out who the weak link was in the group (almost missing deadlines) and gave a simple warning to improve.

Once everyone understood that we all were being held accountable to do our jobs, communication improved.

It was great to pull together and work as a team.
